This class is intended to give real estate agents a comprehensive look at the types of wire fraud being perpetrated today and ways they can protect themselves and their clients.  We will review the basic definition of wire fraud, the most common types perpetrated against both sellers and buyers, and means to protect from that fraud.  The instructor will review several examples both real world and hypothetical. By taking this course, the real estate agent will be better prepared to advise their clients on ways to prevent wire fraud from impacting their clients and their transactions, and this knowledge will benefit the consumers as a whole. After taking the course, the agent will know:

  • How information is obtained in order to commit fraud
  • What types of fraud are perpetrated against sellers
  • What types of fraud are perpetrated against buyers
  • How to protect seller clients
  • How to protect buyer clients
  • How to protect the agent themselves from liability.
